Camp legally. Stay connected.
A map of British Columbia, Alberta and Washington for car campers, van lifers and remote workers. See where free camping on Crown and public land is allowed, where you'll still have cell signal, and what's between you and the spot. Save your region and it all works with no signal.
What it shows
Crown and public land (free, 14-day limit) vs private, park, First Nation and municipal land, plus BC rec sites, Alberta recreation areas and camping-pass zones, and Washington's national forest, BLM and state land.
Cell sites and a terrain model for Telus/Bell, Rogers and Freedom; each US carrier's own coverage filings; real speed tests from other campers, with a video-call verdict; and a Starlink sky check.
Remote spots that still have signal good enough to work from, ranked, with road access, parking and nearby logging noted.
Cut blocks being harvested or planned, so you can skip spots with log trucks and fresh clearcuts.
Paved, gravel, rough and unpaved tracks, trails, parking and trailheads, plus dated reports from other campers: gates, washouts, rough roads and good spots.
Drinking water, sani-dumps, toilets, showers, fuel, propane, laundry and groceries.
Contour lines, hillshade, elevation at any spot, and a satellite preview to scout a pull-off before you drive.
Save a region to your phone and the map, layers and terrain work with no signal at all.
Search lakes, peaks and communities offline, jump to coordinates, and load your own GPX tracks and waypoints.
Live satellite hotspots and fire perimeters, how far the nearest fire is from any spot, and a one-tap link to current campfire restrictions.
How it works
- Pick your region when the map opens: anywhere from Vancouver Island and the BC interior to Kananaskis, Jasper and the Peace Country.
- Tap anywhere to see who owns the land, whether you can camp, the nearest cell site and how likely you are to have signal there.
- Open the scouting list under Layers for the best remote-but-connected spots near you.
- Save the region for offline on wifi before you leave, then head out.
- Test your signal when you get there: your speed test helps the next camper.
