Hunting view
Know the unit, the cut blocks and the signal before you go
Wildlife management units and zones, cut blocks by age, Crown land, and where your phone or cellular trail camera will connect, on one map that works with no signal. BC, Alberta and Ontario.
What it shows
BC wildlife management units and game management zones, Alberta and Ontario units, labelled on the map and named at any spot you tap.
BC blocks logged 2 to 15 years ago, coloured by age. The 5 to 10 year blocks are where deer and elk feed.
Per-carrier signal at any spot, from licensed cell sites and the terrain. Check a ridge before you hang a cellular camera there.
Tap anywhere and the map points to the nearest likely signal, with distance and direction, for when someone gets hurt.
Where you can legally camp, recreation sites, roads by surface, gates and washouts reported by other users, and live wildfires.
Save a region to your phone and everything above works with no signal at all.
A companion, not a replacement
Keep iHunter or onX for regulations, draws and your waypoints. This map answers what they don't: whether you'll have signal on that ridge, and how old the cut blocks are. Import your GPX tracks and waypoints to see them here too.
Seasons, bag limits and closures change every year, so this map links to the official regulations for each unit instead of copying them. Always check the current BC, Alberta or Ontario regulations before you hunt.
Pricing
The hunting view is part of the Backcountry Pass (CA$49 once, or CA$5 a month): unit and zone details, cut-block ages, trail-camera signal and the nearest place to call from, plus every region saved for offline use. The same pass unlocks the full camping map too.
Look around first: the units and cut blocks show on the map for free, and the camping map stays free online.
