Yukon
Camping on Yukon public land, mapped
You can camp on Yukon public land for temporary recreation, but First Nation Settlement Land needs the First Nation’s permission and the two look the same on the ground. This map shows which is which, the highway setback, and whether your phone will have signal.
What it shows
First Nation Settlement Land, land sold or leased, and communities from the Government of Yukon’s records, with everything else public. Tap anywhere for the answer.
No camping in the highway right-of-way: at least 30 m from the centre line of most roads and 45 m on the Alaska Highway.
Cell sites and the terrain: coverage is mostly in and near communities along the highways, so plan for none.
Game management areas, wildlife key areas for moose, sheep and caribou, trail-camera signal and the nearest place to call from.
Campsites, road ends and public-land pull-offs scored for signal, flat ground, water and quiet.
Save the south, the Klondike, the Campbell Highway or the Dempster to your phone, and the map works with no service.

The hunting view adds game management areas, wildlife key areas for moose, thinhorn sheep and caribou, trail-camera signal and the nearest place to call from. Check the Yukon hunting regulations summary. More about the hunting view.
